The Backstory
Tom and Kristy met while attending Bowling Green State University, near Toledo, OH.
Tom’s first remembered impression of Kristy is of thinking that the smart girl with glasses in stats class was (is) pretty cute. Kristy’s first remembered impression of Tom is conspiring to stab the know-it-all kid in Networking. Of the two, only Kristy’s impression has changed.
For the next two semesters, as coworkers and then as friends, they worked their differences out. Friends described them as “attached at the hip.” Tom, although very attracted to Kristy, was characteristically oblivious to her affection for him. Finally, after a long and hard Linux Install Festival, the joint influences of alcohol and Kristy’s friend Joe prompted Tom to make his feelings known. Six years from that date, they’re getting married.
In the meantime, each has finished their undergrad degree; Tom has earned a Master’s degree and Kristy is halfway through hers; and they both have moved from Bowling Green to Chicago. They live on the north side with their two miniature dachshunds, Sybil and Ruby.
