The Honeymoon
After the wedding, Kristy and Tom will spend a week in Belize. For the first four days, we’ll explore Mayan ruins and some jungle caves from a resort in Benque Viejo (near San Ignacio). From there, we’ll travel to Placencia, for four days of laying on the beach. We have a ton of pictures!
Highlights from the first portion of their trip, during our stay at the Mopan River Resort, will include visits to Tikal and Xunantunich and a trip to the Chechem Ha cave.
During our stay in a Tradewinds cabana on Placencia, we hope to break up long days spent on the Caribbean beach or in our hammock overlooking the sea by snorkeling on the reef, cycle trips north to Maya Beach, or boat trips to Monkey River Town.
Much-hyped but sadly scrubbed for logistical (read: exhaustion) reasons, the cave tubing trip will have to wait until our return visit.
We hear that it was 33 degrees today in Chicago, and it snowed.
